Pastor Jae has been making connections with local colleges and Dr. Tix, who advises the Christian fellowship at Normandale Community College, says, "Students who move to residential colleges often get care packages but community college students never do." We can do something about this! We’re going to create small care packages over the next two Sundays. We want all college students to feel loved, and we hope this act of kindness could spark something meaningful.
How can we help?
If your family is able, please send the following with your child to classes on Sunday:
one bag/box/package of individually-wrapped candy, cookies, chips, gum, bars, popcorn, fruit snacks, dried fruit, etc. OR
other small non-consumables/handmade items your child would like to share with a "big kid:" small origami, favorite stickers, small drawing/painting, etc.
This coming Sunday, November 27, we'll pack the boxes—to be delivered to students right before finals. (Last Sunday kids talked about the importance of reaching out in care and love, learned about who is receiving these care packages and why, and created their own cards and contributions.)
What if we can’t make it?
We know this weekend is busy with lots of travel. If you'd like to donate something, but will be gone between this week, you can email Jae to make a plan or donate directly to this project below (select College Care Package Fund in the dropdown).
I know a college student!
We are also creating care cards/packages for any college students who used to attend The Table. If your family knows of a specific young adult/college kid — please email Jae directly to coordinate.
